A Clinton, Davis County, woman died Monday from injuries she suffered in a Sunday morning traffic accident involving 15 cars, the Utah Highway Patrol said.

Donna May Meats, 53, died at approximately 1 p.m. Monday at McKay-Dee Hospital. She was a passenger in a car driven by her son, Curtis Meats, 28, of Rolling Hills, Calif., said a UHP dispatcher. The accident occurred on I-15 near Willard, Box Elder County, at about 10:15 a.m. Sunday.Meats' car slid into the back of a tractor-trailer driven by Bartholomew Zandberger, 58, of Laguna Hills, Calif., who had just collided with an automobile on the icy roads and had stopped. Another car, driven by Blaine Spackman, 35, Logan, then slid into the back of Meats' car, the dispatcher said.

Fog and icy roads are being blamed for the accident. One highway patrol trooper said visibility in the area was only 20 feet. Eleven other cars were involved in the chain-reaction collision, but no one else was seriously injured, the Highway Patrol said.
