Vreni Schneider of Switzerland Tuesday captured her third consecutive slalom victory of the season to tighten her grip on the overall lead in the women's World Cup of skiing.

Schneider compiled an aggregate time of 1 minute, 22.65 seconds in her two heats. Austria's Monika Maierhofer was second in 1:23.81 and Tamara McKinney of the United States was third in 1:24.14.In the slalom standings, Schneider has a maximum 75, with Maierhofer second on 32. Yugoslavia's Katjusa Pusnik and former World Cup winner McKinney were tied for third on 30.
