An 18-year-old Murray man charged with shooting another man in the throat with an arrow has been placed on probation after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.

Eric Nyle Fox originally charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, a third degree felony.Third District Judge Richard Moffat stayed a zero-to-five-year prison term and placed Fox on three years probation, ordering him to maintain employment, pay restitution and enter a substance-abuse program.

Fox was accused of shooting Terry R. Floyd in the throat with an arrow following a fight at a party in Murray on July 18.
