Valerie Harper, Mike Farrell, Harvey Korman, Zsa Zsa Gabor and other celebrities joined Hollywood businesses in dishing up a hot turkey meal for the homeless who make their way each day along the Walk of Fame.

"It was to draw attention to the homeless issue, to close out 1988 and usher in hope for 1989," publicist Deborah Brown said of Thursday's event. An estimated 10,000 to 15,000 street people make their home in the nation's entertainment capital, according to the Rev. Terrell L. Garret of the Hollywood-based Up From The Streets Good Samaritan Mission.

The benefit was organized with help from Associated Film Promotions Inc. and The Hollywood Reporter, an entertainment trade publication which put on the dinner in its parking lot.
