The identity of a man killed in a flaming three-vehicle wreck Tuesday afternoon on I-15 in Centerville has been released by the Utah Highway Patrol.
According to UHP, the victim is Arthur Kranendonk, 57, of 336 Grant Ave., Ogden. Kranendonk was trapped in his propane-fueled vehicle, which burst into flame when it was struck from the rear by a semi-truck.Two other victims, Clarence Snyder, 70, and Bernice Snyder, 69, also from Ogden, are listed in fair condition at Lakeview Hospital.
According to UHP, the Snyders struck a 55-gallon steel drum that apparently fell from a pickup truck in front of them.
They swerved into another northbound lane on I-15.
Kranendonk struck their car from behind, then was in turn hit by a northbound semi-truck.
The propane tanks in Kranendonk's car exploded, UHP said, burning his car and igniting the Snyders' car and burning out its interior.
UHP said no citations have been issued and an investigation is continuing.
