Fire erupted in a Hollywood high-rise building housing many entertainment industry offices Wednesday night, popping out windows and trapping some workers for two hours, officials and witnesses said.

About 100 firefighters and a helicopter carrying an aerial assault team responded to the fire that broke out at 9:25 p.m. in the 15-story Cahuenga-Sunset Building at 6430 Sunset Blvd., city fire spokesman Jim Wells said.The fire was confined to the offices of Spanish-language radio station KIQQ on the 9th floor and was out by 10:10 p.m., fire spokesman Gary Svider said.

Paramedics treated 17 people at the scene for smoke inhalation and cuts, Wells said. Eight of the 17 required hospital treatment. Two firefighters were treated at the scene for heat exhaustion, he said.
