Children who are victims of crime or in accidents will have something to hold onto while talking to police about the ordeal.
Lorraine Press donated several dozen stuffed bears and toys to the West Valley Police Department for children who are victims of crime or accidents, said Chief Dennis Nordfelt.
The department distributed the stuffed huggables to officers and detectives "who in turn will give them out to juvenile victims of traumatic incidents." Nordfelt said.
"This gesture is in keeping with the spirit of the season, and intended to off-set some of the unhappiness that child-victims experience during the increase of injury traffic accidents and incidents of domestic violence during the holidays."
