Residents of Northwest Passage have collected their nickels and dimes so that four children could have a happy Christmas.
Money was collected to buy toys, clothes and food for a Christmas dinner.Northwest Passage houses 42 inebriates who are striving to maintain sobriety. Most have no home or family connections.
Said one of the residents: "Christmas doesn't mean a whole lot to us, but Christmas is for children. No child should be unhappy at Christmas, because it's not their fault when things aren't right."
