Taking a look at the popular image of the wild West, the IBM Gallery of Science and Art is presenting "Frontier America: Works From the Bufflo Bill Historical Center, Cody, Wyoming" through Feb. 25, 1989.

This exhibition includes nearly 100 paintings and sculptures by Albert Bierstadt, Karl Bodmer, George Catlin, Thomas Moran, Frederic Remington and numerous others whose work helped give rise to a quintessentially American artistic vision.Also on show are Native American artifacts, weapons, and cowboy accessories and memorabilia pertaining to the life and times of Col. William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody.

-An exhibition of art works by American painter Georgia O'Keeffe is on view at the Metropolitan Museum of Art through Feb. 5.

Titled "Georgia O'Keeffe: 1887-1986," it consists of more than 100 works of art and focuses on the most influential aspects of O'Keeffe's career, presenting a wide range of her abstractions as well as flower paintings, figure studies, cityscapes, still lifes and landscapes.
