Don't throw those beautiful Christmas cards away. You can recycle them.
Jack Early of All-Year Christmas Cheer in San Francisco specializes in the "Recycling of Christmas Spirit." For more than 25 years, he has sent millions of used Christmas cards to missionaries of all faiths, orphanages, hospitals and schools throughout the world. They remake them, he said, and use them for religious purposes, teaching and decorations. In some cases they sell them for their charitable causes.
Early, a San Francisco advertising man, now has more than 400 recipients all over the world. He gladly sends addresses and mailing instructions if you send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to him at 134 Pfeiffer St., Alcatraz Heights, San Francisco, CA 94133.
His agency is a non-profit, non-sectarian activity.
"It's amazing how much good a little old Christmas card can do," he says. "It's the best recycling you can do."
