Jordan High Head Football Coach Al Watrin died Friday following a lengthy battle battle leukemia.

Watrin, 39, coached the Beetdiggers for three years, guiding them to a pair of Region 6 titles, a 3A semfinal appearance in 1987, and a three-season mark of 23-10. The former Weber State College player had assisted Rick Bojack at Jordan before taking over the program at the start of the 1986 season.Although his occasional absence on the sidelines last season was conspicious as he received therapy treatments and continued his fight against the illness, Watrin was present for each of Jordan's games this year.
