A large, beary furry visitor brightened up the holiday season for Jacob Hathaway, left, Jamie Moore and 80 other Primary Children's Hospital patients this week. Fred Bear, the store mascot for Fred Meyer stores, made his annual visit to the Salt Lake pediatric hospital to distribute 3-foot-high Christmas stockings. Fred has been spreading Christmas cheer at the hospital since the retailer moved into the Utah area in 1984. The huggable bear makes the season bearable for kids who are unable to be home for the holidays.
