Columbia Records has issued a 35-track anthology of trumpeter Miles Davis's 30-year recording history with the label.

"Miles Davis: The Columbia Years 1955-1985" is a digitally remastered boxed set of five albums or four cassettes or compact discs, covering each genre: blues, standards, originals, moods, and electric (fusion), focusing on the way he approached each format and how his music changed through the years.The set includes four alternate takes or previously unreleased versions of classic works including "I Thought About You," "Flamenco Sketches," and "Someday My Prince Will Come."

Sidemen heard on the compilation include Cannonball Adderley, Kenny Clark, John Coltrane, Chick Corea, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Keith Jarrett, Elvin Jones, John McLaughlin, Marcus Miller, John Scofield, Wayne Shorter, Tony Williams, Joe Zawinul and the Gil Evans orchestra.
