"A United Way campaign is a little like mountain climbing, " said Ross E. Kendell, president of Key Bank and campaign chairman for 1988. "The last distance is the most difficult. We're still expecting final reports from many campaigns. And nearly every day brings a report that is higher than we had anticipated. We're still on course on our climb toward that goal."
