Cybil Shepherd says she will shoot to kill. The "Moonlighting" star says she owns a .38-caliber handgun and isn't afraid to use it. "We live in such a horribly violent society that we must protect ourselves and this is the way I do it," she says in the January issue of Redbook. "Some people will think it's horrible that I own a gun, but I'd rather have it than not have it. For me, a gun is a necessity. In fact, I'm thinking of carrying a gun in my purse and car. If I ever felt a threat to my family - if anybody ever tried to harm my children - I wouldn't hesitate to use it. I'd shoot to kill. That's because no one - absolutely no one - will ever harm my babies." Shepherd is a discriminating gun owner, too. "I would never use anything smaller than a .38 because if you're going to shoot someone who's about to harm you," she says, "you better make sure you do it right the first time. And this baby (her .38) gets it right the first time."
