BYU's Dylann Duncan, a graduate of Skyline High School, has been chosen one of five fall finalists for the NCAA Today's Top Six award. Duncan, a 6-foot-3 middle blocker on BYU's volleyball team, was the only female athlete among those selected.

A four-year starter for the Cougars, she recently broke the national career record in kills of all NCAA divisions. Duncan, a 1987 GTE First Team All-American, holds numerous High Country and BYU career records. She has maintained a 3.35 grade-point average in electrical engineering.Others named are Bill Hawkins, a defensive end for Miami; Carnell Lake, a linebacker for UCLA: Anthony Phillips, an offensive guard for Oklahoma; and Mark Stepnoski, an offensive lineman for Pittsburgh.
