A teenager has been charged as an adult in the murder of a Salt Lake man whose body was found April 8 in Jordan Park.

Feke Latu, 17, a South High School student, is named in a criminal complaint charging him with second-degree murder and aggravated robbery, both first-degree felonies.

Latu, who turns 18 in June, is accused of killing Norbert Begay, 22, and stealing his radio the night of April 7. Begay was beaten unconscious and left in the park. He died of exposure, according to the complaint, filed Thursday in 5th Circuit Court.

Two 10-year-old boys playing in the park, 1060 S. Ninth West, discovered Begay's body the afternoon of April 8.

Latu remained in the Salt Lake Juvenile Detention Center Friday in lieu of $25,000 bail.
