Marriott Corp. plans to open six retirement communities under the name "Brighton Gardens," within the next two years.

Construction on the first three sites, Sun City and Scottsdale, Ariz., and Virginia Beach/Norfolk, Va., will begin in early 1989, with openings scheduled for mid-1990. The company expects to have a total of six communities under construction and another 19 sites under contract by the end of 1989.Operated as a product line within Marriott's Senior Living Services division, the communities will feature "catered living" which includes assisted living and personal care suites, as well as a licensed nursing facility offering intermediate and skilled nursing services.
