An imbalance of oil and air in the Ogden Temple's heating boiler was blamed Wednesday for thick, black smoke billowing from the downtown building's roof.

Temple President LaMar Buckner said no one in the temple noticed the problem until Ogden firefighters drove up and asked about it.Fire engines sent to the scene only stayed long enough for crews to find out that there was no fire.

The smoke appeared about 12:35 p.m.
