The Mormon Tabernacle Choir has accepted an invitation to sing at the presidential inaugural of George Bush, it was announced Wednesday.
President Gordon B. Hinckley, first counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, told Inaugural Committee Chairman Steve Studdert that the choir would sing at the inauguration, according to the spokesman.Studdert, a native of Richfield, Utah, said the choir's schedule has not yet been worked out. The schedule for the 75-minute Inaugural Parade is to be arranged Thursday, and the choir could participate in that. The choir probably will not sing at the inauguration ceremony at the Capitol because of logistical considerations, Studdert said.
An unidentified donor will pick up the choir's costs of travel and lodging, he said.
