Devil worship is behind an increasing number of crimes in the United States, including serial murders, and authorities must understand Satanism to solve the bizarre cases, law enforcement experts say.
"In the last 10 days I've had seven calls on cases where heads have been pulled off corpses," Dale Griffis of the Regional Intelligence Sharing Network told a national conference on the problem Wednesday. The network helps investigate crimes involving "non-traditional" groups."Police who make these calls are very much trying to find answers, and that's what we are trying to provide for them," said Griffis, a former Tiffin, Ohio, policeman.
One expert at the three-day conference urged warning labels on records to alert parents to rock music with Satanic lyrics in an effort to prevent the spread of the occult among teenagers.
