A Utah trucker charged in the beating death of a Flagstaff, Ariz., teenager faces an identity hearing Dec. 7, Box Elder County Attorney Jon Bunderson said Tuesday.
The hearing, said Bunderson, will be to determine whether Robert John Casey, 25, is the suspect identified in a Coconino County, Ariz., first-degree murder warrant.Casey, who lists home addresses in both Ogden and Vernal, was arrested Nov. 18 near Snowville, Box Elder County, on the Arizona warrant. He has been held in the Box Elder County Jail since his arrest.
Coconino County prosecutors said Casey's truck was parked near the area where James Lee Haney, 14, apparently was beaten to death Nov. 6. Haney's body was found the next day in a wooded transient campsite in south Flagstaff.
Haney had left his home the afternoon of Nov. 6 to collect aluminum cans, police said. An autopsy determined he died from a blow to the head.
