Gary R. Fisher, public affairs manager for Chevron USA Inc., has been elected chairman of the Salt Lake Education Foundation board of directors. He replaces Darcie White, who served as chairman for three years.

Other officers are Barbara Berg, a marketing, sales and communications official for US West, vice chairman; Jay Smith, managing partner of Ernst and Whinney, treasurer; and Kay Schwendiman, a retired Deseret News Publishing Co. official, secretary.The foundation's purpose is to supplement learning opportunities in the Salt Lake City School District through gifts, bequests and grants from government agencies, businesses and individuals.
