The Supreme Court Wednesday delayed for six months the appeal of Nazi war criminal John Demjanjuk after his defense attorney committed suicide, Israel radio reported.

Demjanjuk, a retired U.S. autoworker, was sentenced in April to death. He was accused of being "Ivan the Terrible," a guard who operated gas chambers in the Treblinka death camp.Demjanjuk's attorney, Dov Eitan, died after throwing himself from the 15th floor of an office building in downtown Jerusalem on Tuesday. Eitan, a 53-year-old former judge, had joined the defense team in August.
