A Utah State Prison inmate who walked away from a state corrections road project during the Thanksgiving holidays remains at large, and officials believe he may still be in Weber County.
Ronald Allen Liptrap, 29, of Ogden, was working with an inmate crew on a Department of Transportation project Friday afternoon when he asked to use the restroom and never returned, said Department of Corrections spokesman Juan Benavidez."We consider him dangerous due to the fact that he has escaped from custody or walked away from it," Benavidez said.
Liptrap had been serving terms of zero to five years and five years to life for theft, a parole violation and being a habitual criminal, but he had been granted a September 1990 parole date, Benavidez said.
Liptrap is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes.
