The Provo-Orem Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the Provo-Orem area's "Total Citizen of the Year," to be honored at the Utah State Chamber of Commerce's annual banquet on Jan. 13 at the Red Lion Inn in Salt Lake City.

Nominees for the Total Citizen Award should be outstanding individuals who have demonstrated voluntarism and service in as many of the following areas as possible: community, family, church, youth, education, recreation, civic organizations and projects, business and profession, and public office."The achievement and efforts of a Total Citizen Award recipient have made a recognizable difference in the community," said Wes Boman, state award coordinator. "He or she has given generously of his or her skills, talents or resources to help people, to enrich the quality of life, and to make the community a better place, without expectation of personal gain."

The award recipient will be honored along with winners from chambers of commerce throughout the state.

Nominations should be submitted to the chamber as soon as possible. Nominees need not be a member of the chamber or be involved in a local business.
