The Christmas season and armed robbery season has begun with three men holding up the Payless Shoesource on Redwood Road, police said Friday.

Sgt. Steve Coxey said one of the men stayed outside as a lookout while two men wearing "ratty business suits" entered the store at 4083 S. Redwood Rd. and ordered the clerks into the back of the store."They were ratty business suits so it looks like they got dressed up for the occasion," Coxey said.

The two men then took the manager at gunpoint to the front of the store where they ordered her to open the safe, Coxey said. The manager and clerks were then told to stay in the storage area until after the men left.

None of the witnesses to the 3:45 p.m. Friday robbery saw any vehicles, the sergeant said, "so we don't know what we're looking for."

The only description of the robbers was white males in their late 20s to early 30s. No one was injured in the incident in which $800 was taken.
