Rep. Wayne Owens, D-Utah, will travel to the Middle East for two weeks in December as a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Owens, a member of the panel's Mideast subcommittee, will visit Israel, Iraq, Jordan, Saudia Arabia, Kuwait and probably other nations in that part of the world. An aide to the Salt Lake congressman said the itinerary was still being put together this week.Subcommittee members will leave Washington Dec. 7 and plan to return Dec. 22. They hope to meet with leaders of many of the nations they visit to discuss current Mideast peace plans, the situation in the occupied territories in Israel and Palestine Liberation Organization recognition of Israel.
