People interested in going to Mexico next spring to watch whales can sign up for a trip sponsored by Hogle Zoo.
The March 11-18 tour will go to Magdalena Bay, on the Baja Peninsula, where gray whales are known to winter. Participants can watch the whales from a catamaran or get closer on small skiffs. Two naturalists will accompany the tour. The zoo makes no money from the trip, which costs $1,945 from Salt Lake City, said zoo spokeswoman Lynn Davis. The zoo uses the tours to promote conservation education as well as zoo membership and fundraising. For a brochure, call 582-1631.
