A Brigham City company has submitted the low bid of $3.86 million to widen and improve a 2.7-mile stretch of U.S. 91 in southern Cache County.
The Utah Transportation Department said the bid by Jack B. Parson Companies was about $485,000 less than state engineers estimated for the U.S. 91 work, from the Wellsville area to Green's Corner."The project involves widening the two-lane highway to four lanes," said department spokeswoman Shirley Iverson, and rebuilding a bridge over the Little Bear River.
But the contract will not be awarded, Iverson said, until the bids are reviewed to make certain no errors were made. The work is scheduled to be completed by Sept. 15, 1989, she said.
