With an enrollment increase of nearly 14 percent over last year, Snow College is completing its centennial year with a record high enrollment of 1,544 students.

In addition to the regular college students, another 200 students from Central Utah high schools are attending special classes at Snow, school officials report.A look at the enrollment history of Snow College shows a steady and sustained growth over its past century. In just the past 10 years, Snow has grown by about 80 percent from its 1978 enrollment.

"There is a great diversity of students at Snow College," said college President Dr. Steven D. Bennion. "While most of our students come from Sanpete, Salt Lake, Utah and Sevier counties, there are students representing every county in the state as well as 194 students from other states and 12 foreign countries." About three-fourths of the foreign students this year are from Japan, he noted.
