Salt Lake police say a convenience store clerk struggled with a gunman during an attempted robbery Wednesday night and refused to give him money.

Salt Lake Police Lt. Tom Brown said a man with a long-barrel 22-caliber revolver entered Smith's Gas and Video, 402 E. First Ave., at about 10:30 p.m. and demanded money. Brown said there was a struggle between the gunman and the clerk when the gunman grabbed the cash register."They had a tug of war with the cash register and the suspect fled," he said.

Police are looking for a 6-foot-2-inch white male, 25 to 30 years old, weighing 160 to 200 pounds with short brown hair. The man was wearing a blue scarf with white lettering, jeans and a denim jacket.
