The Utah Innovation Foundation is asking new and emerging businesses to submit summaries on their companies for possible presentation to investors.

Business plans must be submitted by June 1 and formal presentations to investors will be made on Aug. 5 at a start-up company funding conference sponsored by the foundation and several professional and government organizations."The hardest thing for a new company to do is raise money," foundation executive director Brad Bertoch said. "In Utah, investment dollars or `seed' capital for early stage companies is scarce."

The start-up funding program and conference helps new firms find first stage funding.
