A Tennessee man accused of kidnapping and raping a University of Utah student has pleaded not guilty.

Third District Judge Pat Brian scheduled a Feb. 8 trial for Marshall G. Jones, 18, charged with aggravated kidnapping and two counts of aggravated sexual assault.The charges say Jones forced a woman, 22, into her car outside Milton Bennion Hall on Oct. 20. He brandished a screwdriver and made her drive him to the area of Second South and Eighth East, where he sexually assaulted her, the charges state.

Jones had been living in the Salt Lake area with a relative, according to court records.
