No one should have to go without a turkey feast this Thanksgiving because of lack of money to buy food. A score of organizations and individuals will provide the meal - either cooked or the raw ingredients - to low-income Utahns Thursday.
Here are some of the agencies and individuals who will be offering meals for Thanksgiving.-Employees of Hardee's Family Restaurants will donate their time to serve a special dinner for the homeless, handicapped, senior citizens and low-income families Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hardee's at 75 E. Second South.
-The Salvation Army, 438 S. Ninth West, will serve a traditional dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. Those who are homebound because of age, illness or handicap can make reservations to have meals delivered. For more information call 322-1253.
-The Westside and Salt Lake Community Action food pantries will be open on Thanksgiving Day, and uncooked food will be available.
-Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 279 S. Third West, will serve dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thanksgiving Day.
-Nector's Restaurant, 979 S. State St., will serve from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
-Jenny Dudley's Sunday Chuckwagon Breakfast will serve from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. under viaduct at 350 W. Fourth South.
-Tio's Mexican Restaurant, 645 W. 5300 South, will serve traditional and Mexican foods from noon to 3:30 p.m.
