Abraham Markosian, president of Mark Steel Corp., has been elected 1989 chairman of the Utah Manufacturers Association, succeeding John R. Bollow, director of public affairs for Geneva Steel, Orem.

Markosian said UMA membership has grown 11 percent over the past 12 months, mainly from high technology companies. Markosian credited Bollow's "foresight" in organizing the UMA's new Technology and Manufacturing Committee.Leland W. Ward, vice president of support services at Morton Thiokol's Wasatch Division, Brigham City, was elected first vice chairman and chairman-elect.

Other officers are Sam Dell'Olio, president of Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Salt Lake, second vice chairman; Gerald R. Moffitt, secretary-treasurer, refinery manager for Chevron U.S.A. Inc. in Salt Lake; Bollow, immediate past chairman.

The officers will serve as the executive committee and on the the 24-member board of directors during 1989.

Larry D. Bunkall continues as UMA president, lobbyist and office manager.
