An early morning robbery Tuesday at the Top Stop, 1083 E. Fifth South, has police believing the same robber has now hit three times in Salt Lake City since Saturday.

A man wearing a translucent clown mask approached the clerk at the small gas and convenience store, pulled an automatic handgun from his waistband and demanded cash, said Salt Lake Police Lt. Norm Thompson. The robber then fled on foot with less than $100.Thompson said the robber and his methods matches the description of a Saturday night robbery at 2665 S. Parleys Way and a Sunday night robbery at 401 First Ave. Both of the previous robberies were at small convenience stores.

The robber, in his 30s, is described as Caucasian, 5 feet 9 inches tall with brown hair. He was wearing a gray sweat shirt and jeans.
