Teachers from Skyline High School and Bountiful High School were presented Presidential Awards for excellence at the White House recently. David N. Pehrson, Salt Lake City, and Dwight G. Brown, Bountiful, were chosen as symbols of excellence in teaching. Both received $5,000 grants and were flown to Washington to accept their awards. A math and science teacher was recognized from each state for the awards.
A Utah State University faculty member has been selected as one of six individuals in the nation to receive a teaching award from the National Council for Geographic Education during its recent annual meeting held at Snowbird. Cliff Craig, associate professor in the Department of Geography in the College of Natural Resources, is the first Utahn to receive the honor.
Dr. Richard L. Seigler, director of the Division of Pediatric Nephrology and Hypertension at the University of Utah School of Medicine, has been elected president of the Utah Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
