A Salt Lake dentist has been charged with five Alaska hunting violations and a 10-foot trophy brown bear has been seized, Alaska State troopers reported Wednesday.
Peter Paulos, 45, was charged with five misdemeanors - each carrying a maximum 1-year sentence and $5,000 fine - in connection with a bear hunt in 1986.U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service agents, working with Alaska wildlife protection officers, confiscated the bear, said Sgt. Bill Farber of the Alaska troopers.
Farber said Paulos was charged with taking big game the same day he was airborne; illegal possession and transportation of big game; herding game with an aircraft; taking game with the use of a radio; and taking a brown bear without a registered guide.
