PLO chief Yasser Arafat said Tuesday the United States has agreed to give him an entry visa so he can address the U.N. General Assembly in New York. But the U.S. State Department said no visa was issued. Arafat indicated in remarks to reporters in Cairo that the visa was obtained with President Hosni Mubarak's help. Speaking after a meeting with Foreign Minister Esmat Abdel-Meguid, Arafat also said more than 50 countries have recognized a Palestinian state proclaimed last week by the PLO's parliament-in-exile.
