Former Utah State Attorney General Phil L. Hansen, 68, died Aug. 3, 1992, in Murray.
Mr. Hansen practiced law in Murray and Salt Lake for 41 years and was a member of the Utah State Bar Association, Salt Lake County Bar Association, District Court of the United States, United States Courts of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. He was the youngest judge elected in the history of the United States for Murray City in 1952.Mr. Hansen was past president of the Utah Criminal Law Section and American Board of Trial Lawyers. He was a prosecutor, defense lawyer, judge and appeared in more than 10,000 cases and defended 187 homicide cases. He was listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the West for Lawyers and American Judges.
Mr. Hansen was a veteran if World War II and served in the U.S. Navy.
Funeral will be at noon Thursday, Aug. 6, in Murray Park LDS ward, 450 E. 5600 South. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State, and 11-11:45 a.m. Thursday at the church.
