A Salt Lake man was charged Monday in connection with the strangulation death of his roommate in a downtown apartment, court records said.
Michael J. Wimble, 33, was charged with second degree criminal homicide, the records said.
A witness testified the man told him shortly after noon on April 13 that he had just killed Ronnie Dyer, 42, and he had choked Dyer for five minutes, records said.
An employee at Smith Apartments, 228 S. Third East, found Dyer about 12:40 p.m., a Salt Lake City Police detective said. A doctor determined Dyer died of manual strangulation, records said.
