Former World Boxing Association heavyweight champion Michael Dokes continued his comeback Thursday night, scoring a fourth-round technical knockout over Curtis Isaac at Madison Square Garden's Felt Forum.
Isaac took a standing-eight count with about 30 seconds left in the third round. Referee Al LoBianco stopped the fight at 2:21 of the fourth round.Cocaine addiction halted Dokes's career from 1985-87, but he has won seven bouts since his return. Dokes, 220 pounds, of Miami, improved to 36-1-2 with 23 knockouts. Isaac, 205, Kalamazoo, Mich., fell to 12-7.
In other bouts, former world lightweight champion Edwin Rosario knocked out Juan Minaya at 1:44 on the fourth round of a scheduled 10-round junior welterweight fight. Rosario, 141, of San Juan, Puerto Rico, went to 31-3 with 27 KOs.
