Mexican President-elect Carlos Salinas de Gortari will meet with U.S. President-elect George Bush in Houston next week to discuss relations between their countries, officials said Thursday. Salinas will meet with Bush in Houston over lunch Tuesday, Salinas' office said. Bush pledged Thursday in a letter he sent to a panel of prominent Mexicans and Americans that he would consult with Mexican authorities before taking any actions affecting that country's well-being.
