Funeral for Joseph Frank McCune, 86, a prominent civic leader and businessman for 50 years, will be Nov. 19, 1988, at 1 p.m. He died of a heart attack Nov. 15 at his home.

The service will be in Lindquist & Sons Colonial Chapel, 3400 Washington Blvd., where friends may call one hour before the service. Burial will be in Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park.McCune began his business career as manager of the tea room at Walker Department Store in Salt Lake City, and later moved to the Ogden area where he managed Keeley's Restaurant.

He was elected for two terms to the Ogden City Council, and also served on the Ogden Pioneer Days Committee. He was also a member of the Greater Ogden Chamber of Commerce and Defense Supply Association.

McCune was appointed by former Gov. Calvin Rampton to serve on the Weber County Board for the Aging, and was chairman of the board for the Weber County Nutrition Program.

McCune was born in Nephi on Feb. 4, 1902, to Thomas and Serna Jones McCune. He married Katherine B. McLaughin in Salt Lake City. He attended schools in Nephi and Salt Lake City.
