A Washington County roads employee has pleaded not guilty to a charge of failure to yield the right of way in an accident that killed a Santa Clara woman.
Donald Arlo McArthur, 44, was arraigned Thursday before 5th District Judge Robert F. Owens. He had been cited for failure to yield in an accident last August that resulted in the death of Sharon Snow, 31, and her unborn child.According to a Utah Highway Patrol report, McArthur was doing road work one mile west of Ivins on U.S. 91 when the accident occurred. The report said McArthur did not see the Snow vehicle as he pulled out onto the road.
The driver of the car, 31-year-old Angus Anthony Snow, also of Santa Clara, suffered broken bones and head injuries in the accident.
No trial date has been set.
