The Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, Pa., will honor the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Sunday for its contributions to promoting patriotic pride in America.

The foundation's National Recognition Medal will be presented to President Thomas S. Monson, second counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, at 10 a.m. in the Tabernacle on Temple Square immediately following the choir's weekly radio and television broadcast.During the presentation ceremony, the choir will sing a medley of patriotic songs accompanied by the 15th Air Force Band, which will also perform during the broadcast.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir has recorded numerous albums of patriotic songs, performed at several presidential inaugurals and, this summer, was an official cultural representative of the United States at events in Australia commemorating the 200th anniversary of the founding of that country.
