Traffic along a stretch of I-15 between Lehi and the Point of the Mountain will be rerouted beginning Sunday as a Utah Department of Transportation resurfacing project gets under way.

Northbound traffic will be rerouted to the west side of the interstate via temporary crossover lanes on Sunday while resurfacing is done on northbound lanes. Two narrow lanes of traffic will be allowed in each direction through the construction area, divided by concrete barriers. The limited number of lanes will likely mean delays for drivers, UDOT officials said.

The $3.9 million project of removing asphalt shoulders and ramps and replacing them with concrete as well as making repairs to the road surface and the Alpine overpass will take about six months.
