Ivan Boesky's mansion in the exclusive community of Bedford, N.Y., has 10 bedrooms and Boesky himself is in prison for insider trading, but his wife has upset neighbors by insisting she needs more room.

Eleven neighbors have hired a lawyer to argue that Seema Boesky should not be granted a variance to the zoning law that says no residential building may have more than 2 1/2 stories.Mrs. Boesky has requested the variance to add a half-story to the Georgian-style brick mansion because she needs the extra space for her family.

But lawyer Michael Vartabedian said the neighbors fear that the renovations would hurt the value of their property.
