Vanna White says although her fledgling acting career may be on the line with her lead role in a new television movie, she'll take good ratings over good reviews.

White, the letter-turner on the popular "Wheel of Fortune" game show, said in this week's TV Guide she was taking a risk with her role as the mythical Venus in NBC's "Goddess of Love.""It's like my life is on the line, certainly my acting career," she said. "If I do an OK job, I might get another job. If not . . . well, I don't want to think about that."

But she later reconsidered her statement.

"Well, I'll be honest. If I had to choose between good ratings or good reviews, I'd take the good ratings," White said.

White said she was pleased with her dizzying rise to celebrity status.

"My career has been a dream come true," she said. "Being who I am is the best thing that ever happened to me. When I was in high school, in Myrtle Beach, I told people that I'd be going to Hollywood and leaving South Carolina, and they never believed me."
